Detectives are urging witnesses to come forward after a man told police he was inappropriately touched near a bus stop in Suffolk on Christmas Day.

The incident took place at around 1am on Wednesday in Mayfield Road, Bury St Edmunds.

A Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said: “As he passed a bus shelter near to the junction with Home Farm Lane the victim was approached by another man who proceeded to touch the victim two-three times in the groin area.

“The victim told the man to stop and then left the area.”

The offender is described as white, aged around 50 years old and was wearing a light coloured jacket.

Witnesses or people with information relating to this incident are urged to call police on 101.
