With just two days to do until we come together to celebrate our wonderful county, one Suffolk fan has created a range of tasty goods inspired by the place she calls home.
Jen Bradford, from Martlesham, has baked a platter of Suffolk-themed cupcakes to mark the big day.
Born and bred in Suffolk, Ms Bradford used to work as a graphic designer for BT before she embraced her sweet tooth and set to work on her business, Delicious Imagination, creating occasion cakes.
She said the cakes were inspired by “things that make me proud to be from Suffolk”.
The beautifully intricate designs include a miniature Ed Sheeran, a tribute to the Suffolk Punch, an Ipswich Town shirt and a model of the Aldeburgh Scallop sculpture.
When asked what she loved about her home county, Ms Bradford said: “It is just a feeling you get. There is a real kind of safety and homeliness about Suffolk. It is pretty, friendly – the kind of place you would want to bring up a family.”
Suffolk Day, a day dedicated to celebrating what makes Suffolk great, will take place on June 21.
As the big day approaches, a range of exclusive Suffolk Day merchandise has been produced – meaning everyone can show just how much they love our beautiful county.

Communities across Suffolk are also preparing a host of events and festivities to mark the special day, with plans ranging from a farmer’s menagerie at Suffolk Food Hall in Wherstead, to an exclusive tour of Suffolk’s only cathedral in Bury St Edmunds.
At the food hall, pupils from Birchwood Primary School will come face-to face with the ‘Suffolk Sextuple’ – a collection of Suffolk’s native breeds.
The walk and talk tour of St Edmundsbury Cathedral will be run by the man responsible for its iconic Millennium Tower, Horry Parsons.
Over on the Ipswich Waterfront, the Workers’ Education Association (WEA) will be running a two hour circular walking tour of the marina.
For all the foodies out there, Hollingsworth Butchers in Chelmondiston will be hosting a Suffolk Day BBQ at the Shotley Pier picnic area, while over in Ipswich visitors will have the change to enjoy the unique Suffolk burger, made by A Taste of Suffolk. The beef patty is topped with locally sourced bacon and Suffolk Gold cheese, and served in a brioche bun from The Cake Shop in Woodbridge.
One particuarly touching event in the diary this year is a candlelit vigil run by St Elizabeth Hospice. ‘Suffolk Remembers’ will offer locals the chance to dedicate a candle to a lost loved one in Felixstowe seafront gardens.
Suffolk Day is backed by the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star, along with BBC Radio Suffolk and the county council.
