Fire crews freed casualties from vehicles involved in two separate accidents in neighbouring streets just minutes apart.

Essex Fire and Rescue cut a woman free from her car, which was on its side when crews arrived, at Hospital Approach in Broomfield, Chelmsford. The casualty was freed by about 5.50pm and left in the care of the ambulance service.

Firefighters had also been called to assist a casualty from a two vehicle accident reported nearby just before 5pm. The trapped person was freed and left with the ambulance service by 5.40pm.
