Burglary in Clacton

Archant

Two men have been arrested in connection with a police investigation into a burglary which happened while a older woman was at home.

The break-in happened in Arnold Road, Clacton, at about 1.30pm yesterday.

The occupant, who is in her 70s, was having a bath when she heard a loud crash from downstairs. She dressed and went to investigate and saw a hand reaching through a smashed window. She shouted and the two suspects ran off.

She told detectives that one man was in dark clothing, was wearing glasses and had short hair. The second man had light brown or gingery hair in a ponytail.

Officers now want to hear from anyone in the Uplands Road, Park Way, Coan Avenue, West Road or West Avenue areas who might have seen the men hanging around or running away.

They especially want to hear from any residents whose home CCTV cameras might have recorded the suspects.

Anyone who can help should contact Dc Andy Dodd at Clacton CID on 101.

Two men, aged 31 and 39 and both from the Clacton area, have been arrested in connection with the investigation.
