Plans for a new six-screen cinema complex and a food superstore for Clacton are being exhibited to the public this week.
The site of the proposed scheme, called “Clacton’s Gateway” is next to the main A133 into the town with access through the existing Brook Retail Park roundabout.
The developer, Kevin Britton, said plans for development have been drawn up in response to interest from cinema operators.
He said: “Our scheme responds to the keen interest from cinema operators for a state-of-the-art, modern complex to serve Clacton and the Tendring Peninsular.
“The scheme’s strategic location will also help put Clacton firmly ‘back on the tourist map’.” The developer says the scheme also provides an area of open parkland including an extension to the town’s Pickers Ditch Walkway. Land is also included to extend the nearby existing country park.
The exhibition is being held in Essex Hall, Station Road, today, Thursday, October 17 and Friday, October 18 from 10am to 4pm.
