The Red Arrows are set to return to the Clacton Air Show this summer.

The world’s premier aerobatic display team are in high demand this year as it is their 50th anniversary.

Mark Platt, Tendring district councillor for tourism and events, said “In their distinctive Hawk jets they perform dynamic displays around the world and it is a great honour to host them in Clacton.

“They are great ambassadors for Britain including the pilots, engineers and support staff that make up the whole team.

“Whenever you are organising an event such as this you always want the Red Arrows but there will be a whole host of aircraft on board by the time the show comes around and one or two surprises.”

The air show takes place over August 21-22, and also includes the Tucano.

Last year’s event attracted more than 140,000 people to the town across the two days, boosting the local economy by an estimated £4million.
