Lutgen Terblanche’s licence was taken away in his absence after he failed to turn up for his sentencing at South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court.

The 37-year-old, from Birkdale Court, Fornham St Martin, near Bury St Edmunds, was also fined £400.

Terblanche was clocked by police travelling at 112mph as he was riding past Claydon.

He was caught after being seen by an officer in a police patrol car, which followed him along the A14.

Terblanche’s 2012-registered Ducati was said to have been travelling at constant speeds in excess of 110mph, before he was caught.

The incident occurred on June 10 on the Bury St Edmunds-bound carriageway.

Terblanche was summonsed to appear before Ipswich magistrates in October, but did not attend the first hearing of his case.

The matter was adjourned until October 29.

Terblanche did not turn up for a second time. However, the magistrates found the matter proved in his absence.

His sentencing was adjourned until November 19, but he did not attend for a third time.

The magistrates disqualified Terblanche from driving for 56 days. In addition to his fine, he must also pay a £15 government surcharge, as well as £85 towards the prosecution costs of the case.
