Police appeal after woman accosted in Colchester street

Police in Colchester are investigating after a woman walking along Haven Road, towards Hythe Quay around 6.30am on January 5 was approached by two men who accosted her.

The 20-year-old woman was asked if she wanted to come back to their flat for a drink and when she declined one of the suspects blocked her path and tried to make her go back the other way. She ran off.

The men are described as white, mid 20s, slim build, one wearing jeans, a hooded top with a white t-shirt underneath and the other was wearing a dark coloured hoody with the hood up.

Investigating officer Pc Dan Smith said: “Whilst the woman was not hurt she was frightened and I would appeal for anyone who was in the area or knows who is responsible to contact me at Colchester Police Station on 101.”

A toddler has been rushed to hospital after a serious crash in Barningham this morning.
