Detectives investigating a road crash near Colchester which killed a passenger have renewed their appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Stacy Clague died after the driver of a silver BMW 325 convertible in which she was travelling appeared to lose control of the car and struck a tree stump in Vinesse Road in Little Horkesley, a spokesman for Essex Police said.

The car ended up in a ditch at around 5pm on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old woman, of Bures, was taken to Colchester General Hospital but died on Wednesday.

The driver, a 39-year-old man from the Colchester area, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and is on police bail until July 21.
