A three-figure sum of cash and jewellery have been taken in a burglary in Colchester.

The break-in happened when thieves entered a flat on Woodrow Way between 3-6pm on Sunday, January 26 and ransacked the property before stealing the items.

Investigating Officer, Dc Hannah Richardson, said: “We’re looking to speak with anyone who saw people at this property on Sunday afternoon and indeed those individuals who may have seemed out of place on this street at the time. The couple living at this flat are devastated at being burgled and will take some time to get over the invasion of their home and privacy.”

A forensic examination of the scene was conducted as were house-to-house enquiries.

Anyone with information in connection with this burglary is urged to contact detectives at Colchester police station on 101.
