Two men stole a driver’s van yesterday after punching him in the face and pulling him from his vehicle.

The victim, a man in his 30s from Ipswich, was driving his white Ford Transit Connect along Harwich Road, Colchester, towards Bromley Road.

A small Citroen car, driven out of Goring Road, stopped in front of the van and two men got out.

They punched the van driver in the face and pulled him from the van.

The first man was black, aged 35-40-years-old, tall, of stocky build with short dark hair. He wore a dark vest and jeans and was the initial driver of the Citroen, and drove the victim’s van away.

The second man was also black, 6ft 10ins tall and of average build. He wore a dark coloured hooded top with a logo on the front.

The incident happened between 3-3.30pm yesterday (Saturday July 5).

The second man drove the car away. Both vehicles drove off along Harwich Road towards Bromley Road.

Fortunately the victim was uninjured.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Bryan Heath from Colchester CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
