A teenager police had been looking for in connection with an assault in Colchester has now been identified.

A 17-year-old local schoolgirl had been walking through the underpass on Crouch Street, near Balkerne Hill, shortly before 3.30pm on Friday, May 16, when a group of young men walked towards her. As they passed her, one of them slapped her bottom.

A 16-year-old boy will be spoken to about the allegation before a decision is made on what further action is required.
