A man has approached a schoolboy in Colchester.

The 10-year-old boy was cycling in Forest Road at about 4.15pm on Monday when a man driving a blue car stopped and invited him into the vehicle.

The boy immediately rode home and told his parents who contacted police.

Anyone with information about the car driver, who was described as being white, aged about 40-50, and with grey hair and grey stubble, should contact the investigating officer Pc Joanne Barlow at Colchester police station on 101.
