A man is due to appear in court next month to face a motoring charge in connection with a fatal road crash in Colchester last year.
The collision happened when a Citroen Saxo and a road sweeper struck each other head-on on Bromley Road shortly after 1.30pm on Thursday, November 8.
The front-seat passenger in the Saxo, 18-year-old budding marine engineer Joshua Irvine from Canterbury Road in the town, was certified dead at the scene.
The driver sustained a variety of injuries and is now recovering at home.
Michael Lock, a 19-year-old engineer from Cowdray Avenue in Colchester has been summoned to appear at Colchester Magistrates Court on November 5 to face the charge of causing death by dangerous driving.
