Colchester toaster fire at disabled man's home

A disabled man was left homeless tonight after a kitchen fire in Colchester, which was caused by a toaster.

The fire was put out just after 7.45pm

A spokesman for the fire service said the occupier was left homeless due to fire damage to the property.

The Red Cross has found the man, who is wheelchair bound, accommodation to stay in overnight.

Councillors will meet tomorrow to dicuss people’s feedback about traffic management and diversions.
