POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Colchester.

The victim, a 23-year-old woman, from Colchester, was walking along an alleyway at Highwoods Square at 12.35am on Sunday when the incident happened.

She walked past two men who were sitting on an electricity box.

One of the men then ran past her while the other man barged into her shoulder, causing her to fall, and stealing her handbag.

The men are white, aged 16 to 20, and around 5ft 5ins to 5ft 8ins tall.

Anyone with information should call Pc Andrea Ford at Colchester police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
