DETECTIVES are investigating after two men were stabbed in Colchester.
The incident happened in Monkwick Avenue at around 3.45pm yesterday and left the pair, who are known to each other, with knife wounds.
A 41-year-old man, from Colchester, sustained several wounds and was taken to hospital where he is described as stable. His injuries are not life-threatening.
The other man, 17, from Braintree, was found outside McCoys in Queensland Drive a short time later.
He was arrested and then taken to hospital with a stab wound that was not life-threatening.
A/Ch Insp Jim White, said: “We will be increasing patrols in the area and will have a visible presence should there be any local concerns.
“However, I would stress this is an isolated incident and the two males were known to each other. I do not believe any other members of the public living in the area are at any danger.
“The incident will be investigated by Colchester CID and anyone who has committed offences will be brought to justice.
“I would further appeal for any information, if anyone knows anything about these offences please come forward and assist the investigation.”
Officers are keen to speak to any witnesses to the original incident in Monkwick Avenue as well as those around Queensland Drive at the time.
DC Tim Harris, from Colchester CID, said: “We have not recovered any weapons despite a thorough police search of the area and would also ask the public to be on the look out and call us immediately should they spot anything.” Anyone with information should call Colchester CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
