A horse suffered a cut nose in the collision northbound between Copdock and Capel St Mary at around 4.45pm.

Both lanes were initially closed, prompting a diversion, before the road later re-opened at around 7pm.

A police officer drove the owner of the Ford horsebox to a nearby location to get a replacement horsebox, a Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said.

The collision also involved a grey Citroen Xsara. No other injuries were reported.
