A man's leg has been broken on a farm near Copdock

A man has been taken to hospital after he was injured in an incident on a farm in Copdock, Ipswich.

The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) was called at 10.05am today and sent an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, and the Essex Air Ambulance to the scene.

A spokesperson for EEAST said: “We got called to reports of a man whose leg had been crushed by a heavy steel girder, causing obvious deformity to the leg and severe pain. Fortunately, the casualty, who we believed was aged 59, did not sustain any injuries to any other part of the body.”

The man was taken by land ambulance to Ipswich Hospital for further treatment. He was not believed to be in a critical condition.
