Police are appealing for information after two burglaries in the west of the county that are being linked.

The first incident happened at a house in Depden.

Just before 3pm on Monday, April 7 a teenage boy living at a house in Bury Road heard a noise from downstairs.

Realising that someone was breaking into the house the boy locked himself in the bathroom and called the police.

The boy remained on the phone while he heard people searching the house.

Police arrived within seconds of the burglars leaving.

A search of the house had been made and an iMac computer was stolen.

The second incident happened at a property in Dunstall Green Road, Ousden between 9.15am and 4.15pm on Tuesday, April 8.

The property was broken into and an untidy search was carried out.

Jewellery and money was stolen.

If anyone has any information, saw any suspicious activity or unfamiliar vehicles in the areas concerned they are asked to call DC Ben Clark at Bury St Edmunds CID on 101 quoting HH/14/663 & BR/14/245 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
