Rail services between Ipswich and Peterborough were disrupted today after a man was hit by a train.

The death prompted cancellations of services between Ipswich and Peterborough via Ely from 11.30am until around 4pm this afternoon, train operator Greater Anglia said.

Details of the man have not been released.

A Greater Anglia spokesman said: “A person was hit by a train earlier at Manea between Ely and March the train service is now resuming between Ely and Peterborough in both directions.”
