Millionaire and former BBC Dragon Duncan Bannatyne was in Bury St Edmunds yesterday to open a newly refurbished health club.

Mr Bannatyne visited Clarice House, which The Bannatyne Group bought in September last year.

The gym, spa and hotel has just completed a £750,000 renovation and refurbishment and on Wednesday (March 25) night hosted the former Dragons’ Den and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here star to officially unveil the new look.

Mr Bannatyne said: “The new gym area and fitness studios look fantastic and are a great addition to Clarice House.

“The new equipment is among the best that money can buy and will help our members achieve their fitness and health goals even more effectively, which in my opinion, is a great investment.

“This is just the start of our development of Clarice House. We have invested in new staff, including a team of domestic cleaners who will maintain the high standards that we expect of a Bannatyne Group facility.

“In addition, we will be undergoing a significant refurbishment of the spa to bring it in line with our other facilities across the country.”

The opening was attended by 400 guest and St Edmunsbury Mayor Patrick Chung.
