Pupils, parents and teachers at an east Suffolk primary school took part in a day of activities designed to gain a greater appreciation of internet safety.

Easton Primary School’s “E-Safety Day”, which was held alongside a nationwide campaign promoting the responsible use of online technology, has been hailed as a “great success”.

Melissa Geater, curriculum leader at the school, said: “The use of the internet is always evolving and our aim is to encourage children to explore and develop a responsible attitude towards their own safety.

“Our positive attitude to E-sense begins even with our youngest children and actively encouraging our parents to be involved which allows this positive message to be supported at home.”

As a result of the event, the school has appointed eight “E-sense advocates” who will lead assemblies and deliver training
along the theme of “making the internet a better place”.
