Elmsett: Thatch fire extinguished by firefighters at Hadleigh Road address

Firefighters attended a thatch fire in Elmsett last night.

It was at a house in Hadleigh Road at around 6.35pm.

The incident was under control by 7.30pm.

It happened during a strike by some fire service personnel which lasted from 2pm to 2am.

They are also striking today from 10am until 3pm.

  • My friend Mandy says you should always be careful with matches and lighters where a thatch is involved. I think she may have learned her lesson about a so-called "thatch fire" the hard way!
