MULTIPLE fire crews have been tackling a building fire in Elmswell this afternoon.
Firefighters were called to an address in Clay Field, Elmswell, at just before 12.30pm after reports of a boiler room fire.
Initially crews from Elmswell and Ixworth were mobilised and on arrival they found the fire affecting the roof space of a 5m by 7m building.
Two sets of breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a thermal imaging camera were used to investigate.
Crews requested further assistance: a turntable ladder from Bury St Edmunds, an appliance from Bury St Edmunds and an appliance from Stowmarket.
A command unit was mobilised from Woodbridge along with an appliance from Bury St Edmunds for command support.
Crews are currently using four sets of breathing apparatus and two hose reels to tackle the fire.
