Police say nobody was injured in the incident, which happened at 2.45am on the A1088 near Elmswell, but that it resulted in a car fire and fallen power cables.

A burst water main in that area has also added to the problems.

UK Power Networks workers have also been called and it is hoped that one lane of the road will be opened by rush hour.

Firefighters from Elmswell were sent to the scene after it was reported that the car fire had spread to a hedge and fence. The blaze was brought under control at about 3.20am.
