Essex: A12 sliproad closed after fatal crash

A person was killed in a road crash in Essex this evening.

The county’s fire and rescue service said firefighters were called to assist at the scene of a fatal road traffic accident, which happened in London Road, Kelvedon, on the A12 south London-bound slip road of Junction 23.

The incident happened at just after 6.35pm and involved one vehicle.

Two fire crews from Witham and one from Tiptree attended the incident, along with police and an ambulance crew.

The road was still closed at 10.30pm while investigations into the crash continued.

Essex Police refused to give any details of the incident.
