Firefighters were called to free a driver who had become trapped in her vehicle after a crash in north Essex.

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a collision on Norther Approach Road, Colchester at around 8.50pm last night.

Two crews from the town attended and arrived one person trapped inside the vehicle.

“Firefighters worked to release the casualty by 9.40pm and left them in the care of the ambulance service,” a fire service spokesman said.
