Essex Police cadets helped to raise more than £1,000 for a brain injury charity by packing bags for shoppers in Colchester.

The Colchester VPC members packed bags in the town’s Marks and Spencer store on Wednesday, December 20, while collecting donations on behalf of Headway.

In total, £1,270 was raised by the cadets and the money will go toward improving the lives of people suffering from brain injuries and their families.

Headway is the UK-wide charity that works to improve life after brain injury. Through its network of more than 125 groups and branches across the UK, it provides support, services and information to brain injury survivors, their families and carers, as well as to professionals in the health and legal fields.

The charity helps survivors regain some quality of life through a wide range of services, including rehabilitation programmes, carer support, social re-integration, community outreach and respite care.
