The union has called a strike today between 6am and 8am, during that time there were three false alarms, two cases of flood water affecting electronics, and six other incidents.

The FBU will strike again between 11pm and 1am. They will also strike tomorrow from 11am until 1pm and 11pm until 1am, and on Sunday from 5pm until 7pm.

Members of the public are advised to continue to dial 999 in an emergency and working Essex crews will attend. Businesses should follow up automatic alarms with a phone call to ensure attendance during periods of reduced fire cover.
