Essex: Five injured and traffic building following incident involving a car, van and tanker carrying farm oil

06:59 12 February 2014

Archant

A tanker carrying farm oil has overturned on the A120 between Braintree and Dunmow, causing widespread traffic problems in the area.

Firefighters, paramedics and police are currently on the scene of the incident, which is also said to have involved a car and a van.

It happened on the westbound-carriageway of the A120 at Panners Farm. Ambulance service personnel have treated five people and crews are working to release a person who is trapped in one of the vehicles.

A spokesman for the fire service said the contents of the tanker are not leaking and are not hazardous.

Rescue operations are still taking place and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
