A Hollesley Bay prisoner who did not return after going on home leave has been recaptured in Essex today.

Connor Shand, 22, who was serving six years for aggravated burglary, was reported as missing to police around 1am on Saturday.

Shand was known to have connections to the Harlow area.

Police in Suffolk and Essex began inquiries to locate him and he was eventually found at 2pm today and taken into custody at Harlow.

A spokesman for Suffolk police said: “He will now been returned to the prison system.”
