Farmers will be discussing how to reach their yield potential at a Chelmsford Monitor Farm event next week.
Suffolk farm manager Edward Vipond will be sharing how he achieved his Bronze Yield Award with 14.6t/ha at the Yield Enhancement Network (YEN) cereals competition at the session, which takes place on January 12 from 9am.
Organiser Teresa Meadows, AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds knowledge exchange manager, said they had a “great” line-up of speakers looking at the YEN project and how farmers can get involved, and the importance of light and water capture.
“We’ll also have a discussion on making the most of low yielding areas and how Country Stewardship can help,” she said.
The meeting, which runs until 12.30pm, is at Galleywood Heritage Centre, CM2 8TR. To book, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call/text 07387 015465
