Theo Waterson, who is just over 18 months old, was born with Craniosynostosis and he has spent his life in and out of hospital as a result.

Theo was at Great Ormond Street Hospital for the operation last Monday and got to meet Kermit and Miss Piggy ahead of the premiere of the new Muppets movie.

Theo’s mum, Amber Jackson, said the chance to meet the duo made her son’s day.

She said: “We were staying in the ward and a lady came in and told us that they were here.”

“They came in and started chatting to Theo and his face just lit up.

“It perked him up and took his mind off everything – it really did cheer him up.

“Kermit sat down and had a conversation with him – they made our day.”

Kermit and Miss Piggy were at the hospital as part of Disney’s partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital .

The aim of the partnership is to raise £10million which will go towards the redevelopment of the hospital.

Miss Jackson, of Runnacles Way, believes the redevelopment will be great for children who attend the hospital as she paid tribute to the staff who have helped her son during his time there.

She said: “It (the redevelopment) will be brilliant.

“The staff are so lovely, I couldn’t put a fault to them.

“It doesn’t make the kids feel like they’re in a hospital.

“It makes it fun for them and takes their minds off everything.”
