Fingringhoe: Cash and divers watch stolen in burglary

PUBLISHED: 15:09 15 February 2014 | UPDATED: 15:14 15 February 2014

Cash and a rare diver’s watch were stolen in a house burglary in Fingringhoe.

The break-in happened when thieves smashed a rear window of a house on Church Lane, near to its junction with Ferry Road, during the afternoon of Thursday, February 6.

The bedrooms were ransacked and a quantity of cash and a man’s diver’s watch with subdials were stolen.

Investigating officer, Dc Adele Brown, said: “This is a rather unique watch and so if anyone has been offered it for sale or is offered it in unusual circumstances, then we would like to know. This family has been devastated that their home has been invaded by strangers who have then stolen from them.”

A forensic examination of the scene was conducted as were house-to-house enquiries.

Anyone with information can contact detectives at Colchester police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
