Five fire crews have tackled a blaze in a pub in Ramsholt.

Fire and Rescue services were first called to the incident on Dock Road around 4.40pm but requested backup around half an hour later.

The Woodbridge command unit was also sent to the scene to assist the crews from Princes Street (two) and Ipwsich East, Woodbridge and Orford (one each).

Reports say the three-floor building was well alight and heavily smoke-filled on the ground floor.

Firefighters had to wear breathing apparatus and also made use of a thermal imaging camera as they fought the blaze with two hose reels and a jet.

The fire was finally extinguished at approximately 5.50pm but two crews remain at the scene. It is not yet known how the fire started or how much damage has been caused to the building.

  • Don't give too much away will you! Are we to assume this was a fire at the popular pub; The Ramsholt Arms, or was it some other pub in Ramsholt ???
