Five burning caravans put out by fire crews at Highfield Grange Holiday Park in Clacton

Firefighters tackled a blaze at a caravan park in Essex this evening.

It happened at Highfield Grange Holiday Park in London Road, Clacton, and was reported just after 8pm.

According to Essex County Fire and Rescue Service there were five caravans on fire.

Two crews from Clacton and one from Weeley went to the scene with firefighters using four main jets and two hose reel jets to fight the fire.

The blaze was out by 9.30pm and there will now be an investigation between the fire service and Essex Police to establish what caused it.
