PREPARATIONS are under way for an annual event that promises to fill people with the festive spirit.

Framlingham Town Council’s 12th Charity/Voluntary Organisations Christmas Market will be held on the Market Hill on Sunday, December 2, from 1pm to 3.45pm.

A number of organisations will be represented with produce including Christmas cards and gifts, floral arrangements, books, cakes and festive fare.

The road around the Market Hill area will be closed to traffic from 10am to 5pm and the Leiston Royal Legion Band will play carols during the afternoon. At 4pm St Elizabeth Hospice will be holding its annual “Light up a Life” service in St Michael’s Church.

People living along a 183km stretch of Suffolk roads will witness the world’s greatest cyclists race past their doorsteps during Britain’s “premier” road event, which for the first time features a stage hosted entirely within the county.
