Framlingham: ‘Kebabs for life’ reward after shop is damaged

A businessman has put up a reward of £1,000 and “kebabs for life” to try to catch the culprits after his takeaway shop was vandalised twice in a month.

Nuri Ozmicco says he is fed up with the attacks on his premises, which are causing disruption to his trade and costing him for repairs.

The plate glass window at the front of his kebab shop Zorba’s in Well Close Square, Framlingham, was smashed on Friday night.

It was also broken on January 2.

He said: “This is twice in a month and it is very frustrating and upsetting.

“The damage the first time cost £2,000 to repair and I have had to claim on my insurance. I am not sure if they will pay this time as it happened again so quickly.

“Even so, my insurance premiums will now go up in future.

“It is awful to come to work and discover damage like this and it has caused so much disruption.”

Mr Ozmicco has worked for Zorba’s for ten years and was previously at the Saxmundham outlet.

He runs the business with his brother and a partner and said they were willing to put up a £1,000 reward and “kebabs for life” for anyone who provides the police with information leading to an arrest and conviction.

He said: “Someone may have seen this damage being caused or they may know the person who has done it. We would urge them to call the police.”

Police have appealed for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the Well Close Square area late Friday night or in the early hours of Saturday, or knows who is responsible for the vandalism, to call them on 101 or, anonymously if required, Crimestoppers 0800 555111.
