A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a ram raid at a petrol station in Framlingham.
The incident happened overnight between October 3 and 4.
Officers were called just before 12.30am on the Friday morning to reports of an alarm sounding at the premises in Station Road, and a car driving off at high speed.
Police attended the scene to find a black Mercedes had been reversed into a side wall of the station shop, creating a large hole through which the offender gained entry and stole cigarettes and tobacco.
Levi Hilden from Severn Road, Ipswich was arrested and last night he was charged with a string of offences including burglary and theft relating to the Framlingham raid.
He was also charged with burglary and theft in connection with two incidents in Burstall on October 3, theft of motor vehicle relating to an incident in Creeting St Peter on October 4, handling stolen goods, driving whilst disqualified and possession of a controlled class B drug (cannabis).
Hilden is scheduled to appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court today.
