Anyone who spotted a pink-haired, pink-suited, pink Pegasus-riding equestrian at this year’s Suffolk Show need not have worried for their sanity.

It was none other than Mandy Hearle carrying out one of her 365 bonkers charity dares as part of Mission Possible 2014.

Mandy set herself the year-long task to support Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and celebrate the memory of Poppy Harvey, who was 19 when she suffered a fatal allergic reaction to food in June 2010. Poppy, whose favourite colour was pink, was set to study medicine and wanted to work with MSF.

We’ve been following the amazing endeavours of Mandy, who has raised more than £3,500 so far and has, in the last month, cycled from home in Woodbridge to Bawdsey in her PJs, jumped through The Thoroughfare on a space hopper and dressed as Mrs Tickle and the Pink Panther for the day. She even began May by painting her house pink, to match her already pink car and pink hair.

Mandy, who works at Deben Pool, has been supported by a number of sponsors along the way. Last month they included Jewson, Kuk Sool Won martial arts, Kimmys Mobile Petting Zoo, Suffolk Landrover Owners Club and John Olivers.

She said: “I just love the story that unfolds with each dare and I never know what it will be until the day.”
