MODELS of planes from different eras in aviation history were on display as part of a major exhibition.

More than 4,000 people went to look up at the skies at Rougham Airfield, near Bury St Edmunds, where about 200 planes were on show.

Aircraft ranging from Second World War Spitfires and Hurricanes to the more recent American F15 and F16 jets were flown.

PR officer for the event organiser, the Large Model Association, Ian Russell, said: “It was excellent, a good turn out and everyone flew well.

“We are very happy with the whole weekend. We had about 1,000 more people attend than normal – it was great to see more come through the gates.
