There was a feast of arts and crafts in west Suffolk last weekend as big crowds turned out for an annual fair.

Thousands of people toured the 170 exhibitions of all shapes and sizes at this weekend’s Clare Priory Craft Fair, which took over the town’s medieval priory.

There was also live music, refreshments and lots of other activities to keep the whole family entertained.

Organiser Jane Ranzetta said the event raised around £20,000, which will go to local charities such as the East Anglian Air Ambulance and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.

“One of the things I find so heartening is they always say what a lovely atmosphere it is,” added Ms Ranzetta.

“The crafters all seem to love it and many have booked to come back next year.”

Safety failings uncovered by health inspectors at an Essex care home put residents at risk of being trapped inside if the building caught fire, a new report warns.

Police are appealing for help in tracing a missing 25 year-old male from Ipswich, who has not been seen for a week.

Two Suffolk nurseries have defended their decision to put the price of hot meals up to £12 a day in the wake of national funding changes being rolled out later this year.

The popular ITFC family day out will return on Thursday, July 27, at Portman Road.

A lorry which overturned at the junction 19 A12 Boreham Interchange, Chelmsford, has been righted by police.

Police have halted filling in the landfill cell where they believe the body of missing RAF man Corrie McKeague is located.

Firefighters have returned to scene of a straw fire, which has re-ignited just outside a village near Stowmarket.
