Jaguars were on the prowl at Melford Hall as part of an annual classic car show.

The Suffolk branch of the Jaguar Drivers’ Club hosted the East Anglian Jaguar Day from 11am to 4pm yesterday.

Around 60 cars were on show at the National Trust site, including one which dated as far back as 1949.

Visitors to the show were able to cast votes for their favourite car in four different categories.

Philip Windsor, communications co-ordinator at Melford Hall, said: “It has been a very good day with a great selection of cars on show.

“The weather has been gorgeous for it and it has been a very pleasant event.

“People come to show off their pride and joy and a lot of the people know each other so it is a chance for them to socialise as well.

“For our regular visitors it is something extra, a bonus for their normal day out here at Melford Hall.”
