A cast of 30 year nine pupils from performed one of Shakespeare’s best known romantic plays in an outdoor theatre production at a Suffolk school.

Young actors at Woodbridge School received great acclaim from the audience for their performance of The Tempest.

The production ran for two nights and featured some imaginary props, including puppets to symbolise Ariel’s retinue of sprite-like attendants, and wind chimes hanging in the trees in homage to Caliban’s famous line from the play: “The isle is full of noises”.

The authentic open-air Shakespearean experience was enjoyed by both the cast and audience, with music song and dance - along with the help of some fine weather - used to portray the agonies and ecstasies of the Bard’s final masterpiece.
