The 2014 event has seen some of the biggest changes to the annual extravaganza in more than a decade, the biggest difference being that the event is moving from Langer Park to the seafront.

The colourful procession started at 1pm today with the theme of Land, Sea and Air. It will be followed by a series of activities and funfair along the seafront today.

Tomorrow, people will be able to enjoy an air show from 12.30pm and a firework display at 9.30pm as part of the festivities.

  • As regular visitor to Felixstowe I not only attended the carnival but was in the procession I was also on the sea front on the following day and I thought the carnival over all was excellent What I must say though is that if Felixstowe wish to retain and increase their tourist numbers they have most certainly got to sort out the toilet systems. I had to make a call with my grand children and to my disgust the toilet block at the tourist information centre was being refurbished and not fully working causing a massive queue. The toilet block at the pier was disgusting with the toilets blocked and full to the brim this being the laddies and gents and to make matters worst the gents toilet block was completely flooded which meant I finished up with wet feet. The swimming pool toilets being available at a cost of £1 Now councillors think seriously is this the way to promote Your town and most of all are the visitors wanting to come back to such a disgusting situation. I seriously hope this will be given some most urgent attention. Felixstowe is a wonderful place to be and certainly does not need this type of publicity.
