Now that’s what you call a view!
These stunning photos, taken from the roof of the Martello Tower at Shingle Street, show an incredible 15-mile panorama of the beautiful Suffolk coastline, from Orfordness in the north to Bawdsey and Felixstowe in the south.
The incredible, all-encompassing view from the top of the tower also shows precisely why more than 100 of them were built around the south and east coast of England 200 years ago – it would have been difficult for Napoleon to creep up on us!
In this part of the world, there is a wonderful view round virtually every corner, or over the brow of just about every hill. What’s your favourite view of them all? It might be a well-known, much-loved beauty spot in Suffolk or north Essex. Equally it could be a place which means something very personal to you.
We’ve just launched a new EADT series, called My Favourite View, and we will print as many of your photos as we can. We look forward to seeing them!
