St Jude’s storm has now intensified and is considered to be at its peak, leaving thousands of Suffolk commuters stranded.
Reports are flooding in from around the county of trees down, commuter hold ups and power outages. In Acton residents are without power, according to reporter Emma Brennan.
And on her way to the Sudbury office she photographed this tree fallen in Waldingfield Road.
She said: “Some tree surgeons fromTimberscope were on their way to work and they stopped and started cutting up the tree so people could get through.”
Our iwitness community sent us a wealth of photos overnight showing the calm before the storm and then this morning photos have been trickling through of the carnage.
One member sent a picture of a tree down in Bucklesham and others showed the waves at Felixstowe.
Reporter Andrew Hirst filmed the windmill in action in Saxtead Green. Share your photos and video today.
