Children got up-close and personal with exotic animals such as lizards and snakes at a Suffolk library for a special event.

The event at Mildenhall Library saw the youngsters learn all about their new friends from the animal kingdom.

The event was funded by the library’s friends group, and the theme was linked to this year’s summer reading challenge theme of Mythical Maze.

The summer reading challenge runs throughout the summer holidays and children can sign up to take part throughout the summer holidays.

The challenge aims to encourage children to read six books during the holidays for which they will receive a series of fun incentives and prizes. For more information contact the library on 01638 713558.
