A DIVISION of the newly-formed Barclays Wealth, Gerrard Investment Management, has appointed new staff to strengthen its wealth management team in Ipswich.

Matthew Shields moves to the Ipswich office after working for 10 years in the London office. He is a member of the Securities Institute and started his career working for Lloyds Private Bank in London.

He is looking forward to working with an experienced team in Ipswich, and implementing investment opportunities identified by Barclays Wealth's research function.

Toby Sellers has more than 20 years' experience in investment management. He started as an analyst with Vivian Gray and moved to the Ipswich office from the London office at the beginning of the year.

He is looking forward to developing links with the local community and building personal investment services in the area.

Warren George joins from the London division and is a member of the Securities Institute. He brings more than 10 years' experience in the financial sector having worked for the Prudential Group in a regulatory capacity in the City.

Niall Pasco-McGregor is a recent recruit to Gerrard with a background in banking and relationship management having spent several years with RBS Private Bank. He will be providing administrative support to the team.

Nick Barber began his career in the City, and spent 10 years in the money markets as an inter dealer broker for various City institutions. In 2000, he joined local firm Ashton Graham Solicitors, where he qualified in investment management and in 2002 became an investment manager.

Local director Andrew Wheeler said: “We are demonstrating our commitment to Ipswich area by strengthening our team here. As our business grows, we can continue to provide our clients with the personal, bespoke service that we pride ourselves in, backed up by the global resources of the Barclays Wealth proposition.”
